An often neglected area for training is parenting. MCL is passionate about helping parents to be more effective in helping their children through school and life.

Parenting Backwards

Parenting Backwards course is about how you

deliberately and consciously use your parenting

to develop your children into the sort of adults

you’d want them to be.

Sessions typically last for 60-90 minutes. The

format is usually a short presentation followed

by discussions, role plays and exercises take

away and try at home.

The Parenting Backwards course contains five

sessions but we can adjust the number

according to your needs. It is delivered during

the evening.

We are happy to talk to you about creating a

bespoke project around the following areas:

  • Helping your child to learn and revise at home

  • Understanding the teenage brain

  • Helping your child be a better communicator

Malit Community Learning’s work with parents has been stunning. First of all, there has been a high attendance at all of the sessions. Second, the parents have loved them, especially the humour and practical aspects. Finally, I’d recommend this course as a great way of getting parents to be more engaged and informed as to how they can help their children at school.

Anthony McGuinness

Headteacher of All Saints Catholic High School, Kirkby.

Andy’s sessions with parents are humorous,

enjoyable and immensely practical. The parents

have loved the ideas and the practical, down-

to-earth way they have been presented.

Andrew Cafferkey

Headteacher of Cardinal Allen High School, Fleetwood.
